Meet Matt
Hi, I’m Major Matt Aldridge – local dad, Army veteran and clean energy expert.
My family has lived right here in Salisbury for generations. From doing ‘bob a job’ as a Scout to serving as Head Boy of Bishop Wordsworth’s School, chalk runs in my veins.
As a father to a young daughter, I know how hard it is to raise a family in a cost-of-living crisis and what it’s going to take to turn our economy around.
As an army officer who served on the frontline in Afghanistan, I can rally morale, engage national leaders and get tough things done.
I’m registered partially-sighted, so I’ve lived the frustrations of accessibility — and successfully campaigned for change.
Finally, as an experienced civil servant and clean energy strategist, I know how to navigate Westminster. I’ll fight to bring Salisbury a brighter future, with an economy that works as hard as you do. Where local business can thrive.
Where our rivers are clean and our farms are climate-resilient. And our historic city is celebrated and supported to thrive.
That’s why I’m standing up as your committed and energetic Labour MP, who is always happy to listen and proud to put Salisbury first.
